This is an earlier video with Jon Butcher of Johanna Wild and later The Jon Butcher Axis fame. We both shared an entertainment lawyer Robert Rook, of Rook, Roth and Rubino, who had offices on Beacon Hill in Boston. Great name for a lawyer! who had me meet Jon and do a first video with a slightly different band configuration (drums). This group was Jeff Linscott and Jon on guitars, Doug Sutler on bass and backup vocals and Derek Blevins on drums. I believe Space Race Flyer is Jon’s original composition. Jon eventually (with only Derek) signed with Polydor and later Capitol Records. He moved to the Los Angeles area for several years and I sent him all the videos of Johanna Wild I have. I think he may be back in New England. He has a website where you can see most of his work and he does consult and produce music video and music for other artists as well as his own. Check Wikipedia and YouTube as well. This was shot live by me in approx. March of 1975 at Needham High School in Massachusetts on a Sony portapak 1/2” reel to reel B&W with the mono audio out of the live sound mixer directly into the audio input of the Sony. Their audio guy was the excellent Steve Crater. Lighting I don’t recall. No excuse excuses for video glitches and errors inherent in single camera video of that age and era!
