Spinning a 3 Ply, Complex Fractal Yarn - Preparing variegated pulled top on a hackle for a fractal.

Описание к видео Spinning a 3 Ply, Complex Fractal Yarn - Preparing variegated pulled top on a hackle for a fractal.

I’ve been mulling over this idea for a while now as I wanted a way of spinning my ideal fractal yarn without the expense of buying hand painted top.

Each colour has been blended by hand using my mini wool combs and then drafted off my hackle in varying colour lengths to achieve the look of a 3ply fractal yarn, for a fraction of the price of buying hand painted top.

I had the idea for this yarn after spending £32 on 200g of what turned out to be very itchy yarn.

This 100% merino yarn will have cost me £12 for 200g and it’s significantly softer and more luxurious than the yarn that motivated me to give this a go.

If you would like to learn more about how I spun this yarn and possibly have a go yourself, I’ve written a blog post with step-by-step instructions and colour recipes.
