My Touring Rig: Will it Fire Up After a Decade? Marshall JTM 45

While the neighbours are away I thought I would fire up my old rig. My trusty companion over many years and thousands of miles.

The amp is a late 90’s Marshall JTM 45 reissue, modded with KT-66s and a solid state rectifier. The cab is a Doyle Custom Audio 4x12 loaded with Celestion G12T-75 watt speakers.

The guitar is my early 90’s MIJ Made in Japan Fender Stratocaster 60’s reissue. This was my first serious guitar and has been with me everywhere for almost 30 years. Its the one I would grab if the house was on fire.

My only source of overdrive in my gigging days was my Analogman Sun Face NKT-275 pedal, rehoused in a Dunlop Fuzz Face enclosure. I ride the volume all night for different shades of overdrive, distortion, and fuzz.

On certain nights this rig would absolutely nail Jimi Hendrix and Eric Johnson tones. Gigging with my tweed deluxe as of late has saved my back, but there’s nothing like this rig for me.
