The 81st Annual CSX Santa Train

Описание к видео The 81st Annual CSX Santa Train

Inaugurated by the Clinchfield Railroad in 1943, the CSX Santa Train continues a tradition of bringing the spirit of Christmas to the rural mountain town of Southern Appalachia for many decades. In an attempt to document this train's 110 mile route from Shelbiana, KY to Kingsport, TN, I traveled south from NW Ohio to the mountains of Kentucky, not expecting to see what I had. I was absolutely blown away by the amount of people at each stop along this train's route. Many young families gathering around the back of the last car in an effort to see Santa or catch a toy thrown from the platform. The general public lining the streets and pulloffs along the train's route, just to get a chance to see the train pass. It was truly an experience unlike anything I've ever witnessed.

Join me as I follow the train from Elkhorn City, KY to Kingsport, TN through the twists and turns, over bridges and through many tunnels. This trip was certainly one I hope to replicate again in the future.
