On 12/2/2023, the Anacortes Seahawks made their first trip to the WA 2A Finals one for the ages, with a huge fan base at Husky Stadium in Seattle (home of the University of Washington 2023 National Title runner-up Huskies). After having no football team just a few years ago, the Hawks set a 2A title game record with 60 points scored, among a few others. After a close 1st quarter with traditional powerhouse Tumwater, the Hawks outscored the T-Birds 27 - 0 in the 2nd quarter to set a commanding lead.

Twin brothers Brock (#32) and Brady (#2) Beaner each had 179 yards of total offense. They teamed up for a punt block TD, Brady with the block and Brock with the 6. Brock had 3 TD's and 5 solo tackles. Brady had 1 score and 9 solos T's. They each had 2 TFL's.

The Anacortes put on a show in the air with several spectacular catches and QB Rex Larson dropped several dimes while going 26/34 for 346 yds and 4 TD's & 0 INTs. Rylin Lang led all receivers with 143 yards and 2 TD's off 5 catches. Landon Schafer nabbed 6 balls for 78 yards and a TD.

The T-Birds had plenty of fight left in them in the 2nd half as they outscored the Seahawks 24-12 and got within 16 points with 2:43 left in the 3rd QTR. But, Anacortes pitched another QTR shutout in the 4th and set the record with the 60 -30 final.

Cash Short (#23) had 2 of Tumwater's 4 TD's on the day. The T-Birds spread rushing load among 9 runners, and totaled 211 yards on the ground as a team. And 3 of 9 ball carriers average 10+ yards a carry. Peyton Davis led the T-Birds with 9 carries and 67 yards.
