My name is Ed Axley I'm president of Davies Design Build and I run this little wonderful group of very talented people that create beautiful things our philosophy is to create an environment where memories are permanent and they endure and they last forever we had the wonderful opportunity to work with John and Andrea Briggs on their residence and it was an experience to absolutely be remembered in fact they've become lifelong friends we were one of many builders and contractors that were interviewed for the process but they were looking for something unique they were looking for a traditional structure that would transition modern design but what made it really unique was they were looking for a full concrete home they wanted from footings to the roof to be fully concrete and concrete reinforced and to be virtually indestructible they love the concept of thermal massing they love the concept of ultra insulation they love the concept of just being indestructible and that's an interesting thing the advantage that we have is that that's not the first time we've been asked to do such so when they interviewed us and thought that we're a reasonable candidate for this type of structure there started our as i like to say our courtship we sat with them we designed with them and over a two-year period we came up with what is now the briggs residence which is this work of art it was this perfect marriage between what the husband would like to have and what the wife would like to have and we were able to bring them both together in i think a very harmonious and beautiful way that if you ask anybody that walks through they would say without a doubt it's one of the finest homes that they've ever seen.

So working with the Briggs was an absolute joy they're just great people to be with and they're even better people to design with Andrea had a vision from the very beginning of what she wanted she would literally come to the meetings with our lead designer she would lay things out on the table and say look i have selected all of this already help me filter out what will work and won't work which is a unique experience we don't always have that and john was very particular in certain elements of the house he's very adamant that we accomplished this or we did that i think the house is fabulous and i think it's just a great place for them to entertain and enjoy for the rest of their life.
