Edo State prepares for its pivotal gubernatorial elections, the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and All Progressives Congress (APC) are urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a transparent voting process. With just one day until the election, concerns about potential violence have escalated following clashes involving suspected thugs during the distribution of sensitive election materials. The APC chairman has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of collaborating with military personnel to undermine the election, alleging protection of thugs linked to a recent police officer's murder.
