My First Impressions of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🇲🇾 (SHOCKED)

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - In this video I take you on my first full day in Kuala Lumpur and give you my first impressions of this interesting city.

I started the day early at the Batu Caves. This is one of the most popular Hindu shrines in the world. I grabbed some water before climbing the huge colourful staircase. Before I entered the caves, there was a huge statue of the Hindu god Murugan, who is very popular among the Tamils.

On the way up, I encountered some friendly monkeys. I thought some would be cheeky and try to steal something, but the opposite was true, ha. When I entered the caves, I was surprised by their natural beauty. Besides all the tourists, you could also see many Hindus praying.

After visiting the cave, I went to Chow Kit Road market to look for a famous local dish called Nasi Lemak. It was not easy to find, but after some time I could finally try this delicious dish. It tasted very good and I took a Milo as a drink to immerse myself in a real Malaysian experience.
I enjoyed the food, but I will not eat the samba for breakfast again, haha, too spicy for this white man!

At the market, I met so many people from different countries and cultures. I felt like I was in 5 countries at the same time. This was such an incredible experience.

Just before breakfast, I was shocked to see so many police officers standing in this local market. I wondered if this was standard procedure for people's safety or something... haha, I was wrong, the president of Indonesia would be arriving any moment. Wow, what a way to start my first day here in Kuala Lumpur. I go to a random local market and meet a president from a neighbouring country haha.

While waiting for the president to arrive, I strolled around the fruit and vegetable market for a bit. Along the way, I bought and tasted durian. I had tried them before in Thailand and thought they were absolutely delicious, so I had to try Malaysian durian as well. And again: super delicious! :-)
I also bought some mangoes, rambutans and a new fruit called jack fruit.

After my fruit search, I went to the other side of the market to wait for the president. While I was waiting, I met some great guys from Indonesia who were waiting for their hero.

After another hour of waiting, he finally came by. All the locals and journalists were there to take a good photo, haha. It was a great experience because I could see that President Joko Widodo is very loved by the people here. Not only Indonesians, but also Malaysians were screaming his name! One of the reasons is that he is extremely humble and down to earth, as some people told me.

Next, I escaped the crowds as it was getting way too hot in the market amidst hundreds of people. So I went to the Petronas Towers to finish the video. These twin towers looked absolutely stunning surrounded by the beautiful KLCC garden.

My first impressions: I love this city, especially the great selection of food and the super friendly people. Can't wait to explore more of it. Thanks for watching!
