Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says his government’s 15 per cent increase in wages for childcare workers will be of “enormous benefit”.

The federal government has pledged to increase wages by 15 per cent over two years for early childhood education workers.

“This will be of enormous benefit, and we’ve worked with the sector on this,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Australia.

“They will certainly welcome this announcement – a 15 per cent increase from December 1.

“Childcare workers are valued.

“These are people who don’t just mind our youngest Australians; they care for them, and, importantly, they educate them as well.”
