The National Basketball League (NBL) is the pre-eminent semi-professional men's basketball league in New Zealand. The 2019 season is the 38th running of the competition. The competition will increase to nine teams in 2019 with the Southern Huskies joining the league for the first time, marking the first time ever that an Australian team has joined a New Zealand competition.
