Mera Peak 6.461m and Baruntse 7.126m Expedition Autumn 2023

In Autumn 2023 we went to Nepal to climb both Mera Peak and Baruntse. They are located in the north-western part of Nepal, close to mountains like Ama Dablam, Pumori, Everest and Lhotse. We summited Mera Peak as the first team of the day in perfect weather and enjoyed a fantastic view of all the mountains, especially the 5x8.000m peaks, around us. The trek vom Lukla to Mera had everything from rain and leeches to a jungle which I really did not expect (there's even blackbears and red pandas there). The trek vom Mera to Baruntse Basecamp was a lot different with hardly any vegetation left due to the high altitude. On Baruntse we did one hike to the Advanced Basecamp (Material deposit) and one Rotation up to Camp 1 (to sleep) and a push to Camp 2 on the second day to get some more altitude for the acclimatization process. We sadly didn't make the summit, see comments on what happened.
