How to simple and effective batch convert pdf to jpg (JPEG), PNG or TIFF images for free on Mac OSX with Automator.
For mac users is this solution ready out of the box. You can view PDF and other many file formats on Preview. Its mighty little program with good options of export like pdf to jpg or pdf to tiff and another many formats.

If we want to export just one page from pdf to jpg, PNG or TIFF just select page and hit export, check desired format and click export. This is simplest method, with Preview.

But when You need export for example whole manual, or multiple pages, for example for ocr, retouching etc. You nedd to buy some utility or just do second method, using Automator.

Its mighty tool and Mac users can be glad for this. In my video are few steps, its nothing complicated, preparation is just about 3 minutes, and after this You can be proud owner of Your little free application.

Here are steps:
1. Click on spotlight icon on top right corner of Your desktop, write "Automator" this will find Application, RUN it.
2. Choose type of document, choose "application"
3. On the top of application start write name of action "render PDF pages as images" and drag it to right window
4. Ok then start type to search for "rename finder items" and drag it again to right, it will also make action "copy finder items"
5. Last action is "Move finder items" again make same steps and drag it to right.
6. Now in first step You can choose resolution, I make for myself two apps one 200 dpi for OCR and another 300 dpi for images, when I need quality. On this action You can also choose color model, type of file JPG, TIFF, PNG and more... and compression this is essential if You need smaller files.
7. In second action please check for place where You want to copy files, I always check desktop because my app is on desktop and I making JPEGs just draging PDF file on app.
8. In action rename file names You have many choises, for example rename files, change case, adding date to filename exported files etc., for me is best just "Make sequentials" it adds squential number to filename that is same like name of original PDF file.
9. On last action is same destination like on second action
10. And now You can save Your new free app by clicking on File, Save. Choose name of app for example pdf to jpg, and where to save, I choose always on desktop.
11. Now You can just drag desired PDF, drag it over Your new pdf to jpg app and release mouse button. Its start working and after some time Your jpgs appear on Desktop, or where You selectend in process of creation.
