Cleveland area weather forecast: Multi-day lake effect snow outbreak this weekend

Your 6:30 a.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for November 29, 2024:

Lake effect snow showers are underway and will persist through day. We do anticipate conditions to deteriorate in the primary snowbelt. It will simply be a wintry-like day with periodic snow showers for much of the metro.

Extreme impacts will be out east. Traveling is highly discouraged along I-90 and Highway 20 in the primary snowbelt. Lake effect snow showers will be intense, possible snowfall rates of 2-3" per hour at times. The westerly flow across the lake will continue to produce a steady stream of heavy snowfall downwind.

The target zone will be Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga and northeast Cuyahoga counties. Snow warnings and advisories are in effect and will likely be extended through the weekend.
