In 2011, the fifth biggest earthquake ever recorded sent a 40-metre tsunami hurtling into Japan's east coast. With some 30,000 dogs and cats in need of a home, we worked with the Animal Disaster Response team to build 30 temporary shelters close to evacuation centres so owners could visit their pets easily.
