This training addresses how to reconstitute a lyophilized vaccine. Lyophilized, or freeze-dried, vaccine must be mixed with a diluent before the vaccine can be administered. This process is called reconstitution. Diluents, liquids mixed with lyophilized powder or pellet to reconstitute a vaccine into liquid form, vary in volume and ingredients and are specifically designed to mix with corresponding vaccine.
