Hi guys, today I'm going to show you how to model a soccer ball in 3DS Max! First of all, click "Extended Primitives" and search "Hedra". Then select "Dodec/Icos" in order to get the sphere like shape, and adjust the family parameters to manage the number of sides the ball itself should have. Then convert the sphere model to Editable Poly and create the simple textures that would be placed onto the selected faces. Then, ALWAYS REMEMBER to split the edges of the ball before you attempt to spherify or extrude it. Once you're done with the extruding click Mesh_Smooth to get the stitching details and voila, you obtain the high poly soccer ball! BTW this is a result that I learnt from video game developers, and this is just one of the assets that will be included into another larger project (the larger project will probably be a football stadium with goal nets).
