Meyna Hassaan Live Show at Raalhugandu

Hassaan Mohamed (or Meyna Hassaan, as he is popularly known), 49, Maldivian vocalist/composer, released his first album titled “Maldives Fantasy” in 1992, followed a short time later by his second album “Maldives Ecstasy”; both of which became ‘superhits’ due to the unique local flavor that was prevalent in his foot tapping tunes and hummable lyrics; something that is very lacking in the usual Dhivehi productions. Shortly after releasing his second album he had left the music industry, citing that it was not religiously acceptable to sing songs and make music.

But recently Hassan has got together with two of my younger siblings and officially registered a music company and have now started on as a vocalist.

Hassaan, who had shot to fame with popular hits such as ‘Keyolhu Kithanme Molhas’, has titled his new album “Oevaru” and would offer fans several different kinds of songs. Hassaan had composed the music and songs for the new album which will include 9 songs. "Oevaru" was released to the market on 9th September 2007 by his father, Meynaa Dhon Kaleyfaanu.

This Album would also be released in Sri Lanka. A video of one of the songs from the album has also been released.
