Die Landenberg Sessions finden seit 2022 jährlich während der HiFi-Messe Klangschloss in Greifensee statt. An drei Tagen werden drei Bands für ein Doppelalbum aufgenommen, live vor Publikum, mit nur zwei Mikrofonen plus «Jecklin-Scheibe» und direkt auf ein Tonband . Auch dank der hervorragenden Saalakustik klingen diese puristischen Aufnahmen unerhört natürlich und sind eine erfrischende Alternative zu klassisch produzierten Studio-Aufnahmen.

Wir führen damit das Erbe des 2021 verstorbenen, legendären Tonmeisters Jürg Jecklin weiter. Er betrachtete den Saal als optimal für seine «One-Point» Mikrofonierung, die er im Jahre 1980 als kleine Provokation gegen die aufkommende Multimikrofonie im Klassikgenre erfunden hat. Doch muss die Methode stilistisch keineswegs auf die Klassik beschränkt bleiben und taugt, in Grenzen, für alle Arten akustischer Instrumente und Stimmen.

Gläuffig, Dimitri Monstein and Zoë Më perform at the forth «Landenberg Sessions», a new series of audiophile «straight2tape®» records.

The Landenberg Sessions take place since 2022 during the Klangschloss hi-fi trade fair in Greifensee. Over three days, three bands are recorded for a double album, live in front of an audience, with just two microphones plus a «Jecklin-Disc» and directly onto tape. Thanks to the excellent hall acoustics, these purist recordings sound incredibly natural and are a refreshing alternative to classically produced studio recordings.

We continue the legacy of the legendary sound engineer Jürg Jecklin, who died in 2021. He considered the Landenberg hall to be ideal for his «one-point» miking, which he introduced in 1980 as a small provocation against the emerging multi-microphone technique in the classical music genre. But the method does not have to be stylistically limited to classical music and is suitable, within limits, for all types of acoustic instruments and voices.
