FrightProps: PicoBoo Plus. This is called the "Holdman" Star of Bethlehem, named after Richard Holdman in Utah who created it in 2006 for his Christmas display. for several years this star was driven by a standard 4 channel chase controller, using 3 of the 4 channels. The effect was OK, but that chase controlller could not be used in a "build-up" fashion, nor could it have all 3 channels on at the same time. The best that could be accomplished is that one channel would come on, then the second channel - with a slight overlap as the 1st channel would turn off - see    • Star of Bethlehem for next Christmas - Ale...   What this star really needed was a build-up - so that Channel 1 would start, then stay on as Channel 2 started, then both channels would stay on as Channel 3 started, and to have the ability to have the three channels stay on as long as desired before the sequence would repeat itself. The PicoBoo Plus was designed to produce such an effect. The controller was set to continous looping and the triggers were set to have the buil-up, and once all 3 channels were on, they were sete to blink on and off afew times, then stay on ffo a few seonds, and then repeat. This looping runs the lenght of the show - approx 5.5 hours each night during the Christmas season.
