দিনরজনী কত অমৃতরস উথলি যায় অনন্ত গগনে ॥
পান করি রবে শশী অঞ্জলি ভরিয়া--
সদা দীপ্ত রহে অক্ষয় জ্যোতি--
নিত্য পূর্ণ ধরা জীবনে কিরণে ॥
বসিয়া আছ কেন আপন-মনে,
স্বার্থনিমগন কী কারণে?
চারি দিকে দেখো চাহি হৃদয় প্রসারি,
ক্ষুদ্র দুঃখ সব তুচ্ছ মানি
প্রেম ভরিয়া লহো শূন্য জীবনে ॥

Aanondodhaara bohichhe bhubane,
Dinorajoni kato amritoraso utholi jaay anonto gagone.
Paan kare robi shoshi anjali bhoriya,

Of the many favourites among Tagore’s songs, Anandadhara bahichhe bhubane would certainly be at the top. Rabindranath wrote the song in 1884. For the composition, he chose the Khayal anga, while drawing on the contemplative mood of raga Malkauns. The lyrics and the melodic structure conjure a spiritual prompt, alluding to a cascade of joy that flows through the universe.

The singer Adity Mohsin's formative years were spent at Visva-Bharati, Santinketan, in the nineties, and that led to a profound understanding of the articulation and evocative flavour of Tagore’s compositions. The stirring beauty of her unfaltering tone and the characteristic persona of her melodic delivery, evoke a deep emotional response in the listener.

Recorded in Adity Mohsin’s voice, Anandadhara bahichhe bhubane was released by Bengal Foundation in 2003, in the album Amar mon cheye roy.
