Mahesh Rathyatra | Serampore Rather Mela 2023 | Mahesh Jagannath Mandir | Second Oldest Rathyatra

Hi everyone , welcome to yet another ‪@unplanned22‬ vlog. Hope you all are fit and absolutely fine.
This is a very special vlog to me you know, cause I do vlog in that place where I have visited multiple times from childhood and that is Mahesh where the second oldest rathyatra happens every year. After Puri that is the most oldest Rathyatra all over the India and across the world also for sure.
The four storied Rath is fitted with two wooden horses and a chariot driver. Apart from that the first stage contains wooden figures of Chaitanyalila, second and third stage contains Krishnalila and Ramlila respectively. The top stage houses the gigantic wooden idol of Jagannath.
The Rath is marked by a mela (fair), complete with mary go rounds and circus shows. Makeshift stalls selling household items and artifacts. Last but not he least are the food stalls selling papad bhaja and hot jilibis. But the age old melas are also going through the mode of evolution with chowmeins and egg rolls being the most sought after food items and stunt bike riders are the new source of entertainment.

This vlog is all about exploring Serampore Rather mela 2023 and also Mahesh jagannath mandir and also feel the vibes of second oldest rathyatra of world after Puri.
