Full Sponsorship for All 2026 Form Four Day Secondary School Students

Today, Hon. Dan Kiili Karitho, MP for Igembe Central Constituency, officially launched a historic Education Support Program at Mailitatu Stadium, Njia Ward, marking the commencement of full sponsorship for all 2026 Form Four students in day secondary schools across the constituency.
In his address, the Honorable Member of Parliament expressed gratitude to God and reflected on the significance of the milestone.
He further thanked the people of Igembe Central for the trust, confidence, and unwavering support they have bestowed upon him by electing him as their representative in the Parliament of Kenya.
Hon. Dan Kiili reaffirmed that he is fulfilling his pledge to transform the education sector through transparency and accountability in the issuance of bursaries. He explained that in the 2022/23 financial year, bursary applications were done per ward, which led to several students being left out. In the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years, the process shifted to class-based applications. This informed his firm commitment that in the 2025/26 financial year, all Form Four students in day secondary schools would be fully sponsored—a promise he honored today.
Calling upon the community to continue embracing education, Hon. Dan Kiili emphasized that education is the great equalizer of society. Sharing his personal journey, he noted that he is a product of education, having risen from humble beginnings to become a Member of Parliament. “The child who once lacked educational support is today the one issuing bursaries to support others. God is great,” he added.
He further announced that while all 2026 Form Four day secondary school students have already had their fees cleared, students in boarding schools, colleges, universities, and other tertiary institutions will begin receiving their bursaries in the following week.
He also announced the acquisition of Kaurine Day Secondary School, which has already been handed over to the school, and the purchase of Kathelwa Day Secondary School in 2025, which will be officially handed over to school management soon. Additionally, he revealed that funds have been set aside this year to purchase school buses for Thimbili and Kithare Day Secondary Schools.
Hon. Dan Kiili congratulated the 2025 KCSE candidates for their commendable performance, singling out Kamiruru Day Secondary School for producing an A- grade. He pledged to sponsor the student who attained the A- and further committed that any day secondary school student who attains an A grade in the future will receive full university sponsorship.
The MP encouraged students to remain focused and resilient, noting that those who may not join universities still have opportunities in technical institutions such as Igembe Central Technical College, Ncunguru.
On infrastructure and development, he reported significant progress on key road projects, including: Kimbira – Eastleigh – Kalimbene – Isiolo Road, nearing completion. Stage kwa Njilu – Athiru Ruujine – KK Road, now under KeRRA and set to commence construction soon. Kiengu – Nthambiro – Meru National Park (Kore Road), currently in the tender evaluation phase.
Hon. Dan Kiili announced the installation of OCPD and DCI offices at Kangeta Police Station and Kawiru Market, strengthening law enforcement and public safety.
He reaffirmed his commitment to establishing Mariara Cooperative University in Akirang’ondu Ward, which he said will attract investors, improve infrastructure, and contribute to eradicating cattle rustling in the region.
On rural electrification, the MP assured residents that his administration is committed to lighting every village, noting that transformer installations will accelerate now that wayleave processes are being finalized, particularly in areas such as KK Aaru Village in Athiru Ruujine Ward.
In support of youth empowerment, Hon. Dan Kiili highlighted the establishment of ICT hubs to enhance digital learning and directed the CDF Chairman to allocate funds for the construction of a modern youth recording studio.
