In this video, filmed just over a year ago, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa talks about her ballet, Frida, for Dutch National Ballet. Clips of rehearsals at the National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam feature dancers of Dutch National Ballet with Maia Makhateli as Frida and Erica Horwood as The Deer. The full-length ballet is inspired by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and was premiered in March 2020. The music is by Peter Salem.
