DIY Easy Wide Shorts w/Pockets! (with PDF Sewing Pattern)

Hello and welcome to Dressmaking Amore! 
Today I’m going to show you how to make these cute, perfectly wide shorts! I’ve been seeing these high-waisted, flared shorts all over my Pinterest feed, so I decided to create a pattern that would be really easy to use to recreate this look! And of course- they have some beautifully topstitched, angled front patch pockets!

I used the Denim Manual from Fashionary to finalize my fabric choice - I used a lightweight, indigo denim.

Here are the materials you’ll need for these high-waisted wide shorts:
- 1.3-1.5 meters, or 1.4-1.6 yds of woven fabric
- .75-1 m of elastic that’s 2.4 cm or 1/4-1.5” wide
- fusible interfacing that’s 50 x 4 cm or 1/2 yd x 1.5”
- matching or contrasting thread
- glasshead pins
- scissors
- measurement tape
