This video reviews Lords of Waterdeep plus a quick glance on its expansion, Scoundrels of Skullport. Then the base game is compared to both Lockup and Champion of Midgard's base game.

Honestly there's still so much I wanna talk about (eg. vs. Architects of the west kingdom), but since the video is already 15 minutes I'd rather not lol.

The game really stood firm throughout the years and even to me still superior to other games that seem to be greatly influenced by it. It does so many things right and is just a classic status for me, if you removed the mandatory quests of course.

The mandatory quests are simply outdated take that mechanism that should not belong anywhere in modern board games, it's like Monopoly level awful.
