Vestapol is one of the most iconic solo pieces for the folk-blues guitar, but it also may be the most misunderstood. It was made famous by the eternal Elizabeth Cotten, and while her version sets her apart from most of her contemporaries, she was also diverging from something even older and more peculiar than most of us know.
