The "Shifting Gears" Concept - Drum Lesson

I remember hearing Vinnie do stuff like this in Jing Chi and thinking it sounded like he was shifting gears in a car from the drum set. I was blown away by this, and I kept hearing it from the drum greats like Dave Weckl, Will Kennedy, Gary Novak, and many others.
