This recording is from the live performance of Jung-A Lee at Worcester Cathedral on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

This Sonata in G major, Op. 28 is Edward Elgar (1857-1934)''s only sonata composed for the organ and was first performed on July 8th, 1895. The work was written for a convention of American organists in the English city of Worcester. The Worcester Cathedral still has the Gilbert Scott case of the Transept Organ which the premier was performed on. These days the cathedral does not use the organ, and it is shown at 3:50.

Jung-A Lee studied at Yale University, Boston University, and Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University. Her dissertation was on Petr Eben (1929-2007)'s chamber music. And in addition to serving on the faculties of Vanguard University, Concordia University, and Biola University, Orange County School of the Arts, she has given recitals in churches and concert halls all over the world including USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Hungary, Slovakia, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

She currently serves as organist at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, California. She also plays for the Pacific Symphony Orchestra and the Grammy Award winning choir, Pacific Chorale as organist, pianist, and harpsichordist.
