Reimaging plastic waste through Reduction, Circulation and Collaboration

Описание к видео Reimaging plastic waste through Reduction, Circulation and Collaboration

One of Pakistan’s most pressing challenges is plastic waste management, with the country ranking sixth globally among the highest plastic waste producers. Unilever Pakistan is tackling this head-on by making our shampoo bottles 100% recyclable, using 25% Post-Consumer Recycled plastic in two of our shampoo bottles, and collecting and processing more plastic than we sell in 2024.

There’s still a long journey ahead. Changing how plastic packaging is sourced, used, and disposed will require more time, bold innovations, and systemic change. With enhanced knowledge and insights, we’re continually evolving our approach.

Our plastic goals focus on areas with the most impact, prioritizing reductions in virgin plastic use and solutions for hard-to-recycle flexible plastics, like sachets. Every bottle redesigned and every piece of packaging reinvented marks a step toward a circular economy, transforming waste into opportunity and leading the industry to a future where plastic waste is a relic of the past.
