Harvestmen, commonly referred to as “daddy longlegs,” are not venomous. In fact, they’re not even spiders! Harvestmen don’t produce venom or silk and have only two eyes, while most spiders have eight. Harvestmen belong to the same class of animals as spiders, the arachnids, but are not spiders. To tell them apart, notice the simple, oval-shaped harvestman compared to the spider’s double-segmented look.
