The ISO 9001:2015 standard was released on September 15, 2015. The ISO 9001:2015 standard is the replacement for the ISO 9001:2008 Standard for business. ISO standards are reviewed for suitability and effectiveness every 5-7 years and the last update was in 2008, as expected the new version offers substantial differences from the previous version of the standard.

ISO 9001:2015 has a New Focus!

The focus on quality management should not only be seen as a means to ISO 9001 certification, but as a key to long-term success. The ISO 9001:2015 standard focuses on promoting Quality through all avenues and encouraging management to prioritize risk and opportunities and to look beyond compliance to a set of long-term requirements and best practices.

Organizations will have up to three years to complete the transition. ISO 9001:2008 certificates will expire on Sept. 15, 2018. All clients wishing to maintain their certification will be required to complete the transition four months prior to the September 2018 deadline.
