With the participation of BRB Holding Chairman of the Board Mr. Harun Macit, Reform Sports General Manager Mr. Musab Macit, Deputy General Manager Responsible for Finance Mr. Hüseyin Özdemir, and Project Director Mr. Muhammed Şakir Odabaşoğlu, along with the ReformSports Zanzibar Technical Team operating under BRB HOLDING, and with the attendance of the President of Zanzibar Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi and the Zanzibar Minister of Information, Youth, Culture and Sports Mr. Tabia Maulidi Mwita, we have carried out the opening of Gombani Stadium.

Gombani Stadium has been brought to a modern structure following a comprehensive renovation and development process carried out from start to finish, with the aim of becoming one of the region’s most important sports and event venues with its 15,000-seat capacity. This project is an exemplary modernization effort that is not limited to the renewal of certain areas, but addresses all components of the facility with a holistic approach. The architectural language, functionality, and user experience of the structure have been reconfigured in line with current standards and long-term usability goals.

Membrane roof renewal
Architectural renovation and modernization of interior spaces
Renovation of locker rooms, meeting room, player tunnel, and service areas
Improvement of grandstand access, wayfinding, and circulation scenarios
Complete renewal of the pitch substructure together with the drainage system
Installation of high-quality artificial turf in line with professional match standards
Upgrade of security and camera systems
Establishment of a regulation pitch layout in accordance with FIFA standards
Preparation of pitch configurations suitable for training needs
Planning of a 400 m standard athletics track with 6 or 8 lanes
Design of multi-purpose (multi-sports) field areas in full compliance with standards
Re-planning of VIP grandstand areas (Total 1,600: 1,456 VIP, 72 VVIP, 20 Protocol, 52 Press)
Implementation of energy-saving solutions and solar energy systems
Parking area arrangements (based on site conditions and needs)
Landscaping and site arrangement works

On the pitch side, the playing surface was completely renewed together with its drainage infrastructure, creating a safe, durable, and all-season field. The installation of high-quality artificial turf, suitable for professional matches, resistant to wear, and delivering stable performance in all weather conditions, has been successfully completed. With advanced lighting systems, the goal has been to achieve both higher efficiency and stronger illumination quality for the pitch and stands. The security and camera infrastructure has been updated, and the necessary systems for safe stadium operation have been addressed in an integrated manner.
