With the World Cup opening ceremony and first game later tonight, Sports Scene's Mike Fox provides you with some key information for the tournament in our specially designed, World Cup VR Studio.

Qatar has built 8 new stadiums for the World Cup and one of them is the Lusail Iconic Stadium which will host the final match on December 18. The stadium, located in Lusail City, 20 km north of central Doha is built by the China Railway Construction Corporation. It looks like a golden bowl from outside with a capacity of 80,000. Except for the final, the stadium will also host 10 matches including the final game of #WorldcupQatar2022.

Here are some fun facts you may not know surrounding the tournament.
This is the mascot La’eeb. He is named after an Arabic word, which means super-skilled player. It looks like a gutra, a headdress worn in Qatar. The designers say La’eeb belongs in a parallel mascot-verse and encourages everyone to believe in themselves under the slogan “Now is All”. He wants to bring the joy of football to everyone.
