The Yamaha FZ-X is based on the Yamaha FZ-S Fi platform, so it shares most of its core components with the streetfighter. With the FZ-X, Yamaha is targeting the retro segment below the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. It will be ideal for those looking for an affordable retro bike packed with modern, practical features.

The Yamaha FZ-X comes with an all-LED headlamp and tail lamp. It also gets a modern full-LCD instrument cluster compatible with the Yamaha Y-Connect app. This combo helps the rider access features such as call and SMS alerts, mileage details, last parked location, and malfunction alert. However, there is no turn-by-turn navigation on offer here. Other notable features include a USB charging port just below the instrument console, offset fuel tank cap, and a tuck-and-roll single-piece seat with upright handlebars. It also gets a single-channel ABS and side-stand engine cut-off feature for better safety. As part of the official accessory list, Yamaha offers LED indicators, engine guard, seat cover, tank grips, and chromed-out rearview mirrors.

The Yamaha FZ-X is powered by the same 149cc fuel-injected air-cooled engine found on the FZ-S. It churns out 12.4PS and 13.3Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. Yamaha could’ve tweaked the motor for a better bottom-end grunt to go with the retro character of the motorcycle. Interestingly, this engine makes just 0.6PS more than the Bajaj Pulsar 125.

The motorcycle packs a gaitered front fork and a rear monoshock. The alloy wheels are wrapped with block pattern tyres (100-section front and 140-section rear) for a more rugged look. The motorcycle comes to a halt using disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard. At 139kg, the Yamaha FZ-X is 2kg heavier than the FZ-S Fi. It also gets a generous 165mm ground clearance.

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha has launched the new FZ-X 150cc motorcycle in the bangladeshi market. It is the latest model to join the Yamaha’s 150cc segment, which comprises of FZS FI, FZ FI, MT-15 and R15 V3.0. With the new Yamaha FZX, the Japanese automaker is aiming to strengthen its position in the highly competitive 150cc-200cc segment.

The 150cc motorcycle is available in 3 colour options – Metallic, Blue, Matt Copper and Matt Black. It is offered in two variants – With and Without Bluetooth – At this price tag, the FZX is around 13K expensive than the entry-level FZ variant and Rs 6K than the top-spec FZS FI.

ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS
The neo-retro styled motorcycle is powered by an air-cooled, 4-stroke, 149cc, SOHC engine that also powers the FZ Series. This 2-Valve Blue Core FI engine is capable of producing 12.4PS of power at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.

YAMAHA’S Y-CONNECT APP
The Yamaha FZX is a Bluetooth-enabled, and it also receives a Communication Control Unit, which is compatible with Yamaha’s dedicated Y-Connect app. Using this app, rider can check smartphone notifications via the instrument console icons, look at maintenance recommendations, track the bike’s last parking location, track fuel consumption, receive malfunction notification, along with a unique feature – The Revs Dashboard, which displays data such as engine rpm, degree of throttle opening, rate of acceleration, an eco-friendly riding indicator, etc on your smartphone.

In terms of proportions, the new Yamaha FZ-X is 30mm longer, 4mm wider and 35mm taller than the naked sibling. It measures 2,020mm in length, 785mm in width and 1,115mm in height. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,330mm, which is similar to the FZ15. The motorcycle has a minimum ground clearance of 165mm and weighs 139kh (with oil & a full fuel tank). It comes with block pattern dual-purpose 100/80-17 (Front) and 140/60-17 (Rear) tubeless tyres
