The story of this animation is inspired from a Mongolian folklore myth, about the celestial origins of the Mongols. The myth tells the story of a heaven-sent hero called ‘Huhdei Mergen’ who came down to Earth by the calling of the seven elders and saved humankind from ravaging demons.

Huhdei Mergen is the name of brightest blue star that can be seen in the winter skies of the northern hemisphere, also known as Sirius A in Western astronomy.

"…Хөхдэй Мэргэн уг нь Хөх Мөнгөн Тэнгэрийн хүү юм байна. Тэнгэр түүнийг мангасын аюулаас хүн төрөлхтнийг авруулах гэж газарт буулгасан юмсанжээ. Тэр үед мангас хамаг амьтныг хөнөөж залгиад, зөвхөн долоон өвгөн үлдсэн нь өндөр уулын оройд гараад уйлалдаж, тэнгэрт мөргөж залбирч суужээ… Тэнгэрийн илгээсэн Хөхдэй Мэргэний ачаар энэ долоон өвгөнөөс одоогийн хүн үүсч, үржсэн гэнэ…"
