The Silver Room Block Party is not your typical summer festival where you shut down a street, eat BBQ and play musicial chairs. It's the live sound of the music, the beauty of the art, the movement of the dance but most important the heart beat of it all: THE PEOPLE.

The Silver Room which is a boutique in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood specializes in creative jewelry & accessories plus hosts arts shows & music parties. The store which use to be up north in the Wicker Park celebrated 20 years in business this year and 15 years of the block party. Started by Silver Room founder Eric Williams as a way to generate new customers has now grown to a full commuity beyond Chicago. (I was even able to get a small glimpse of him at the event!)

Everyone far and wide knows if you come to the block party there a three rules:
1) Don't go to work on this day of the year!
2) Dress your best
3) Be ready to party all day AND night!
