Collaboration between the Mariposa County Tobacco Education Program and the Mariposa Health & Wellness Coalition. Originally presented to Coalition members and community partners in May 2025; Recorded in December 2025.
With a focus on California, we learn about tobacco laws, legislation, and enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels. Develop a better understanding of the agencies tasked with enforcing laws that protect youth from nicotine addiction, and some of the challenges they experience.
We also learn some foundations to help us better understand what commercial tobacco products are, the tobacco industry's US supply chain, and what nicotine does in the brain.
