What Happened to Vacanti Mouse?

Описание к видео What Happened to Vacanti Mouse?

Several people suffer from disfigured faces either due to birth defect or sometimes injuries. Researchers in Japan decided to do something they took a healthy lab rat, called Vacanti Mouse and added ear-shaped molding beneath the skin.

Then scientists injected stem cells into the molding the stem cells formed a human ear shaped cartilage and the molding slowly dissolved with time. The entire process took approximately two months and scientists had a human ear on the back of Vacanti Mouse.

When this research was aired on BBC people saw the bizarre animal and didn't like it. It met with protests against tissue engineering. Nobody really knows what happened to Vacanti Mouse scientists say 'we removed the ear, and mouse lived happily.' But that's a lie to calm the public outrage.
