Fear Released is an experimental video and soundscape that explores the contrast between anxiety-inducing environments and the refuge of nature. Born from my own experience of sensory overload in London, this piece juxtaposes the mechanical, chaotic sounds of the city with calming images of the natural world—offering a space for emotional release and grounding.

Designed to be experienced outdoors, this video is intended to be played on a phone with headphones, fully immersing the audience in a sensory interplay between their physical surroundings and the digital world. The soundscape heightens the tension, building suspense through the layered contrast of urban noise and tranquil landscapes. As the viewer stands in nature, breathing in fresh air, they are confronted with the overstimulating sounds of traffic, movement, and machinery—challenging their perception of place, time, and emotion.

This project transforms passive viewing into an interactive experience, allowing the audience to choose their perspective. Do they immerse themselves in the screen’s imagery, or do they switch between the real-world environment and the digital narrative? Each experience is unique, shaped by the user’s choices, surroundings, and state of mind.
