Описание к видео Welsh 3000 - How to plan your attempt

This is the third video in the series. The other two are linked at the end.

This video will help you plan your trip. It is a bit more dry and lengthy ... but hey, planning is rarely sexy.

What is it all about?
The Welsh 3000 is a challenge to be on top of the 15 highest peaks of Wales (all above 3000 feet) on foot within 24h.

1. When and how long?
Around 21 of June
3-5 days to allow for flexibility with weather and acclimatization

2. How to get there
Easiest from abroad, plane to Liverpool or Manchester and take a rental car
Easiest from within UK with your own car

3. Where to stay?
Multiple YHA in the area. I recommend snowden pass or ranger

4. About the route
Walk SW to NE
3 sections
3 difficult bits (Crib Goch, down before Triffan, Triffan)
Take a GPX track with you (if you cannot find it, I have one .. or extract mine from Strava)

5. Walking strategy
All in one go, starting at 02:30 at Snowden car park (recommended)
Sleep on top and start early
Take the train, start around 14:00, sleep at camp ground or YHA after section 2 and then finish the next day

6. Packing
Travel light, but save
2 liters of water
1kg of food
hiking poles
rain jacket
extra layers
emergency kit (space blanket, power, 1st aid)

7. How to get away
Recommended to order a taxi close to Rowen car park, details in video

8. What is next
Decide with your party
book
comments, questions, feedback are welcome
enjoy!!
