It's back to school season! Did you know Clermont County Health periodically inspects schools throughout the year?

Follow along to see the day in the life of a health inspector... Part of the visit is spent checking the school kitchen to ensure food is safe and served in a clean environment to protect students and staff against foodborne illnesses. We check that freezers and fridges are holding their temperature, storage areas are clean and labeled, dishwashers are sanitizing correctly, food is correctly labeled and dated, and served food temperatures are safe. Next, we will walk through the school to check for general health hazards. We check areas like handwashing stations, drinking fountains, chemical storage in science labs, and overall facility safety including mechanical rooms.
