Today we're going to talk about onion and which one is the healthiest! Also,which one should you eat? Is there one you should avoid? And I’ll talk about three reasons why everyone should have onions in their diet every day.

Onions are going to give us the two things that I preach about the most and that is protein and fiber. And we get both of those in the eye. And beyond that, they're going to give us 11 of the minerals that we need in our diet as well. That includes magnesium, which is so important for your heart, your bones, your muscles, your mind.

Also, onions have manganese, which is also important for many reasons. So 11 minerals are included in these onions.

In addition, Vitamin C is also included. In fact, they are very high in vitamin C, and that means you're going to have what you need in your body naturally to build your own collagen. collagen I've talked about in so many videos. And the value of that for the strong bones is strong ligaments and strong muscles, everything needs collagen.

So get your vitamin C naturally, and you can build it yourself. So beyond the vitamin C for collagen, you've got vitamin C for your immune system.

If you have blood sugar issues, there is chromium in this to help you balance your blood sugars to help you balance your insulin, actually, all of us need help balancing our insulin and so onions are the go to for balancing that they have chromium in them. chromium is perfect for appetite, understanding how to when you're hungry when you're full.

Okay, so we come to the main question, which one is the healthiest? Well, let me just talk about this. Scallions also known as green onions, have a very mild flavor. They're very high in fiber that get crazy active antibiotic properties and anticancer benefits. So these are very good to have in the diet.

Then we go on to leeks. These are really good to add into salads and soups and just all kinds of different dishes. They have a light, delicate flavor so it's very easy to add them to any recipe.

So let's look next at the red onion. Now the red are going to have actually much higher antioxidants than the white. And as I said they're perfect for adding color to salad but they're more mild than the yellow.
