At 8:45 when classes began explosion destroyed north wing killing 38 children and 6 teachers instantly burying them under rubble. Kehoe drove to ruins where parents and rescuers gathered, called superintendent to car and detonated final bomb in trunk killing himself superintendent and four bystanders. On farm debris found sign: Criminals die taxpayers live. Total 45 killed including 38 children in deadliest school mass murder in American history committed over taxes.
