Views of Gallbladder Ultrasound and Bile Duct Imaging

Описание к видео Views of Gallbladder Ultrasound and Bile Duct Imaging

In this video, Prof. Dirk Becker, MD PhD shows you the proper techniques when performing an ultrasound on the gallbladder and the bile ducts.

First, we examine gallbladder views from the front and from the sides (intercostal). Here, you can see the gallbladder views and bile duct imaging. Next, Dr. Becker shows you how you can easily obtain those images using three probe positions to obtain the gallbladder views. As the longitudinal view is performed, you can see the gallbladder moving downwards just behind the liver. When you turn the probe counterclockwise, you see a different image of the gallbladder view. Next, the video explores bile duct imaging, which can only be seen in transabdominal ultrasound. There is only one structure that help you look for the bile ducts.

Lastly, you are presented with the probe position techniques for visualizing the bile ducts. Bile duct imaging is performed similarly to a gallbladder ultrasound and the probe position techniques demonstrated in this video help you obtain quality views for bile duct imaging and gallbladder ultrasound.
