This is a collection of footage from the Sound of America Honor Band & Chorus summer tour in 1997.

This tour took place from July 04-28, 1997, and included students from 45 of the 50 United States. The directors were Mr. Clyde Barr for the honor band and Dr. Stephen Ausmann for the honor chorus.

The tour began with students meeting in Carlisle, PA for several days of rehearsal and then departing from JFK to Frankfurt, Germany. The tour itinerary had students visiting and performing in communities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Luxembourg.

I was a member of the chorus, and this collection of footage was available to participants to purchase and was recorded throughout the tour and then edited onto VHS tapes which were mailed out to us. In total, the footage was spread across three two-hour tapes and are collected in this playlist. This is tape 1 of 3.
