The Speech Therapy Workbook for Adults: Bilingual English and Spanish comes in color and contains cognitive and communication exercises that can be used to provide therapy and assessment. Worksheets can be presented in written form or verbally to guide therapy in either/or English and Spanish. Numerous screening forms are provided to assess memory, attention, communication, social, adaptive, and gross motor skills. Handouts are provided with wording that is understandable and translatable in both English and Spanish for patients with aphasia, dysarthria, head and neck cancer, dysphagia, and dementia.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Cristina Saldaña, CCC-SLP has worked for over 20 years in numerous settings, such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and the public-school systems of New York, Connecticut, Georgia, and Mexico. She is the author of several books in the field and the owner of Bilingual Resources for Therapists and Teachers.

Dr. Saldaña’s goal is to educate and motivate professionals in choosing appropriate materials for their bilingual clients. She stresses that “language should never be a barrier. El idioma nunca debe ser una barrera.” Her workbooks, screening tools, and therapy materials are all in English and Spanish so that clients can practice the same skills at home with their caretakers.
