Low tech approaches and potentials of realized buildings. The documented low tech examples follow the general structure: function, material and system. The "FUNCTION" category brings together projects with the primary objective of accomplishing basic functions such as heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting with as little use of technology as possible and a high proportion of existing environmental resources. In the “MATERIAL” category, the focus is on the use of naturally occurring building materials; Examples are shown that strive for a conscious and economical use of "material" as well as using specific material properties to avoid technology. The "SYSTEM" category focuses on concepts that aim to be used adequately in the overall system. Cost efficiency, special building standards or a long service life are examples in which the sufficient use of existing resources is demonstrated.
