In this illustrated talk, Imogen Radford explores the rivers of the Brecks over the last century, looking at where people went swimming, fishing, boating and had all sorts of fun. This talk was delivered as part of Tales from the River, a BFER project uncovering a wide range of local stories about river recreation across the Brecks. Project lead, Imogen Radford, shares examples of the many fascinating stories, anecdotes and memories collected through the project, which were captured from local people through oral history interviews. The talk is also illustrated with a fabulous array of historical photographs, sourced through volunteer led research at local archives and museums, as well as donated by local individuals.
