This is the Roof Box Company's official fitting guide for the CRUZ Bici rack on CRUZ aero roof bars.

The CRUZ Bici rack comes complete with 3 x u bolts, 3 x u bolt plates, 6 x wing nuts, 2 x end caps, locking knob x 1, locking knob bolt x 1, pair of keys x 1, non locking knob x 1, non locking knob bolt x 1 and 2x wheel straps.

Decide which side of the vehicle to mount the carrier on because the locking knobs can be changed around as required with minimal effort.

Attach the carrier to the roof bars but leave them loose for the moment so you can adjust the carrier before tightening in place. You may find it helpful to stand on the doorsills of your car to get closer the carrier. Always fit the u bolt’s facing down towards the vehicle so as not obstruct the wheel tray when fitting the bike.

Once positioned appropriately, tighten all six wing nuts hand tight (5NM).

Now attach both end caps by pushing onto the each end of the wheel tray.

Loosen the lower knob (none locking) so as to open up the a-frame, roughly 7 turns should be sufficient.

Place the bike onto the carrier. Make sure to bend your knees when lifting the bike. You may find it helpful to lift the bike holding the main frame with one hand and one of the front forks with the other hand, keeping the bike horizontal at first and get the wheels resting on the wheel tray. Then push the bike into the vertical position allowing the wheels to locate themselves in the wheel tray (rather than trying to mount the bike vertically straight away).

Once in position, keep one hand holding the bike main frame and with the other lift the Bici racks a-frame level up and place in position with the bike frame. Now tighten the lower knob (none locking) hand tight (5NM). You can now let go of the bike and assemble the locking knob, bolt and washer. Place this at the top of the Bici rack a-frame in the space provided and make sure the washer sits between the locking knob and the carrier frame. Tighten hand tight (5NM) and lock with the keys provided.

Attach a wheel strap to each wheel going around the wheel tray and wheel and pull tight.

To remove simply reverse the steps taken for fitting. When removing the actual bike, once its detached from the carrier and the a-frame is placed flat, you may find it easier holding one of the front forks and the main frame and lowering the bike into a horizontal position, resting on the wheel tray before lifting down.

The CRUZ 'Bici-rack' is a basic but solid bike carrier - it's made of much stronger material than similar bike carriers in this price range. It comes with fittings to accommodate roof bars to 40mm wide, downtubes of up to 85mm deep by 65mm wide, and can easily be adjusted to suit the geometry of your bike if this is different to normal. It comes complete with a lock to lock the bike to the carrier, two strong polypropylene wheel straps, and has a 2 year guarantee.

It fits all our square bars but the CRUZ T-track adapter (CR940424) are required for most aluminium T-track bars. Click here for more information on the T-track adapter - http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbve...

It's suitable for bikes up to a maximum weight of 15kg and the bike carrier itself weighs 3kg
