So, sometimes after surgery, for a face and neck lift, a patient can be a little depressed. And, I always talk about this with patients prior to surgery. And, I give them the analogy of if you have a pimple on your face and you think the whole world is watching you.

And, now you've had a surgical face and neck lift and you've got some bruising and swelling and I would magnify that feeling a hundred fold. So, for some people, they sometimes second guess their decision to do surgery. And, I think what they didn't really understand is that it will change their appearance a little bit, especially right after surgery, you know, with the swelling. Like even when you get your hair cut, and your hair is long, and then, now your hair is short. It takes your mind a little time to kind of get used to that.

But, our goal is not for people to look different after surgery. It's hopefully to look a little freshened up, a little more youthful. But, definitely not to change their appearance. Most patients actually start feeling good about like two weeks after surgery. About two months after surgery, it's the best thing, you know, that they ever did.

But, our goal is to make sure that you understand that it's not just the surgery you're waiting for, it's the healing after surgery as well.
